TECH VOCABULARIES

Hey Friends!!

Here are some of the well known(but unknown)tech words that I am going to share you.
Remember,these all may not be basic,typical definitions you read from book to pass viva/exam,but an easy explanation(that may give you knowledge but not marks in well known universities) .


DivX:A video compression standard that allows high quality video to be stored in small files.


GPRS: (General Packet Radio Service) A mobile phone standard that provides an 'always on' connection with speeds up to 150kbit/sec(existing GSM manages 9.6 kbit/sec).


Avi:Audio Video Interlace.A type of video file used by Windows and usually played by Windows Media Player and others like VLC.



Clipboard: A part of PC's memory that stores information cut or copied in an application.


Font:A set of letters,numbers and other symbols in a particular style.Popular Windows fonts are Arial and Times New Roman.


Hyperlink:A clickable link on a web page or in a document that takes user to elsewhere ,such as to another web-site.

Beta: Version of a software application or system still in development.Companies make beta versions still in development.They make beta versions available to the public for evolution,testing and feedback which may have bugs,errors and which may cause minor problems to pc.

Write Caching:Speeding up a computer by holding a data in the memory for short periods instead of writing it straight to a (relatively)slow hard disk.

Dialogue Box:A window that pops up to display or request information.

Drop down Menu:A list of options that appears beneath a menu bar when you select a menu option,or when you click a down pointing-arrow in a dialogue box.

mp3: A standard for compressing digital audio.The sound quality of an mp3 file is close to that of CD audio but needs only a fraction of the storage space.

Wizard:An automated online 'assistant' designed to guide you step bt step through a potentially complex process.

Project Natal

It is the code name for a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. Based on an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands,^[1] or presented objects and images. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360's audience beyond its typical gamer base.

Orkutting

Want to send colorful scraps of birthdays and any wishes??

Simple ,
in NEW Orkut already Text Color option available ,and in older version "scraps tips"describes.

but what about this kind of scraps?


suppose you have scrapped some one from some web site like "123scraps.com" or "scrapu.com" or "orkutuncle.com"
but all these has link on it.

They gave you a javascript/HTML code that you have to paste on scrapbook.
But if you send from some particular web site they may harm sometime or after your sending so many followers of yours will be there.


Also if you click on that graphic it will show that from which web site you have copied code,and at graphic below it has its name written....

well,that will lead you common though you have scrapped first, specially for your "special people" !!!

OK.
let's do some trick.....

Want to show Your name in stead of that web site name and want to remove label "send scraps from this site and...blah blah....." ?
Also want to do a trick that if he\she click on graphic than he\she goes to your desire link like "your profile" or "her\his profile's home page" or any link ?

I WILL SHOW HOW TO REMOVE THE WEBSITE NAME AND LABEL AND ALSO ADD YOUR NAME TO THAT LABEL AND SET THE LINK....

This steps shows to set your friend's profile on graphic clicking and your profile by clicking to Label.

1. Open Any Graphic Scrapping web site like 123orkut.com,orkutuncle.com,scrapu.com,orkut123.com etc.
2. Copy the code below the image given on that web site.
3. Paste on the scrapbook (Don't forget to click HTML button right most on the scrapbook text field in NEW Orkut).
4. Now find out a tag named(this tag may be 2 or 3 line long) from up.For Example title="Orkut Scrapping" target="_blank">now on this change the URL of site by your friends profile URL(For that right click on your friend's name and select "Copy Link Location" and paste to this tag).
5. Now find the label written on scrap below graphic on that code and replace with your name.Again find a tag written "href" just before the label.
6. Proceed same here,paste your ID URL on this Click Post scrap.(For that right click on your Profile photo select "Copy link Location")(If any error will be there it will be shown on preview).

WORM START

Hi Friends!!!

After a Failure of conducting workshop(due to too many reasons like politics in college for getting credit for everything,not having enough ability to fight against them (if we would have planned independently, the harassment would be provide by them might be dangerous for us that I see everyday in my class in every lecture to every lecturers)), I have planned to go online,

I will try as much as possible to cover everything,because its my first try to blogging or say online except Orkut , Facebook etc.Social networking are different and blogging is different that you know better than me.

Please pardon me for my poor English as I am not a throughout English Medium Student.Your Comments and suggestions are most WelCome for anything like Grammar mistake or anything.

I am neither any "Student Partner" of any company nor a "creative" or not a professional .I am just a simple Engineering student on a complicated engineering college and complicated university with the expectations of a bright career.In my college there is no value for knowledgeable people.But some of my friends understand me and one of my friends says its good and if more people know you will not prove yourself .Its good,thanks to my friends who understands me.People are getting "Three Idiots " wrong way in my college .They think the one who learns or studies is "chatur" and those who are making noise,masti all time and saying "all izz well" on viva ,exams are "ranchos".

I will share what I have learned(not from college lectures obviously!!!!) from other sources like Workshops,Books(which may have from college library!!!!) and of course from net.
I will try to explain in very easy language so that every one can understand .I will not post lots of things at once,so that people will get bored.I will put simple(but interesting) on easy way and on easy language.

You are feel free to my posts if you feel "aa to junu thai gayu" or "aa to badha ne khabar chche"or a to chavai gayelu chche" or if this is not creative.
